In a little over a year it will be time to elect a new president and get the orange guy out of office.
When deciding on a candidate what do you look for? Is it the midwestern guy major who connects with the middle-aged America or is it the fair skin senator from Jersey whose words connect with the average minority family in America and live the American Dream!
The Democratic Party hosted the African American Leadership Thursday Afternoon and boy was it interesting.
What are you looking for in your 2020 candidate, is its social media impressions, YouTube likes or the winner of the popularity Contest? 2016 election results showed today’s society that you don’t have to be a politic to win office, you would actually be a social media celebrity to run for President.
Although we’ve had trouble in counting the correct number of voters in several seats the representatives never felt defeated. From your Andrew Gilliam’s to your Stacey Abrams.
In the words of Congress Woman Maxine Democrats are reclaiming their time when it comes to taking over the seats in the Senate, House and White House.
Making sure your voice is heard is very important in the 2020 campaign in the words of Presidential Candidate Cory Booker.
“What we need to do is get people out to vote,” said Booker, a New Jersey U.S. senator. “This is a blue state. What that means is we need to go back to organizing and build a 50-state party.” Said Booker Thursday Morning in his speech at the DNC Convention.
What will it take for the candidates to be successful in their campaigns to out number the Orange dude?
“We have to find a way to include the younger generation into the campaign” Said David Johns, Executive Director of the National Black Justice Coalition.
“We can’t wait when powerful forces are turning their prejudice into policy and rolling back the rights that generations of Americans fought for and died for,” he told the crowd of 4,100. “We can’t wait when this administration is throwing children fleeing violence into cages, banning Muslims from entering the nation founded on religious liberty, and preventing brave transgender Americans from serving the country they love. “And we can’t wait because many of our most serious challenges as a nation were with us long before Donald Trump entered the White House.”
